JOB SUMMARY:
A Controls Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated control systems within industrial settings. This role involves working with electrical systems, PLCs, industrial computers, and related software to ensure machinery and processes operate efficiently and safely. The Controls Technician will perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair tasks on control systems and components. Additionally, the technician will collaborate with the engineering team to implement upgrades, improve system performance, and address any operational issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated control systems
Address and resolve operational issues related to control systems
Review electrical schematics (via AutoCAD) and wire as directed by engineering
PLC logic and electrical troubleshooting
Provide training to less experienced technicians
Proactively acquire a thorough understanding of the production equipment, systems, and devices in use
Support engineering projects
Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Certifications or vocational/technical training required; Associates degree in a related field preferred
Basic knowledge of fundamental manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures with ability to apply in routine situations
Minimum 3 years experience specifically in the manufacturing electrical field
Strong problem-solving/deductive reasoning skills
Ability to obtain powered industrial lift license
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job: Lift 50lbs, bend, kneel, squat, climb, reach and stand for extended periods of time
Allen Bradley PLCs (SLC 500 and Controllogix), FactoryTalk View HMI, electrical troubleshooting motors and motor controls experience are all required
Robotics (Fanuc) is beneficial
Proven knowledge of control safety circuits and devices
Ability to work full time on -site
